TOLEDO, Ohio — An organization is working to find homes for pets in shelters by reducing adoption fees at shelters across the US, including several in Ohio.
According to a press release, two northwest Ohio animal shelters will participate in BISSELL Pet Foundation’s effort to “empty the shelters” this holiday season. Its sponsorship allows shelters to charge $50 or less for adoption fees.
The event will be held at the shelters between Dec. 1 and Dec. 17. Participating shelters include the Toledo Humane Society and Wood County Humane Society, as well as several others in Ohio. In southeast Michigan, the Lenawee Humane Society is also participating, according to BISSELL’s website.
