People danced away in Chula Vista to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
CHULA VISTA, Calif. — Live music had several people off their feet dancing to salsa at the Otay Ranch Town Center on Tuesday to honor Hispanic Heritage Month. It is a month-long celebration highlighting the culture and traditions of our community.
What’s usually a place to shop and dine turned into an evening festivity with its ‘Celebration and family festival’. The event showcased ballet folklorico performances, music and several eats to choose from.
Ana Aguilar owns a pop-up Mexican food business and sets up at the Otay Ranch Town Center Farmers Market. She sells traditional dishes from Mexico City like Pambazos, sopes and flautas. Ana shares a taste of her culture through her food.
“It is really nice for me to show my food to the people and try to bring some good memories,” Aguilar said.
