Melanie Nakagawa is the Corporate Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for Microsoft. Formerly a Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Climate and Energy at the National Security Council for the White House, Melanie is on a mission to find solutions to the persisting climate change issue. Highly knowledgeable in topics related to climate change, policies to address climate change, sustainability, business, aligning investments and impact investing, Melanie is available to hire for a wide range of events.
Melanie’s illustrious career began in 2003 when she served as a Senior Research Associate at the Public International Law & Policy Group. Equipped with a BA in International Relations from Brown University, MA in International Affairs, Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University School or International Service and a Juris Doctorate from American University Washington College of Law, she served as an Attorney for the International Program at the Natural Resources Defence Council.
