Himsel optimistic heading into school year | News [Video]

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Vigo County schools are less than a week away from beginning a new year. Already, the district’s newest leader is planning big things for teachers and students.

Chris Himsel is beginning his second year as school superintendent. He told News 10 last year he wanted to open the lines of communication between the district and the community.

He feels good about the foundation the administration has made, but there’s still work to be done. He explained some new goals for the year that he thinks will make a big difference for students.

They include building teacher retention and improving the overall school experience, but he’s most proud of improved communication with the public.
