High school students learn about media at annual summer camp [Video]

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – High school students from across Maine and New England are in Bangor this week to explore the world of communications and media.

They’re taking part in Maine Media Camp which is underway now at the New England School of Communications on the campus of Husson University.

The camp is open to students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior years of high school.

Students will spend the week learning all forms of media from Audio Engineering to Live Sound Technology to Marketing Communications and more – al while working with the faculty of NESCom.

On Wednesday morning they heard from TV5′s Alyssa Thurlow, a NESCOM grad herself. She presented what it’s like to be a multimedia journalist.

Students also got the chance to do some hands-on learning and interview fellow students.
