Adam Sullentrup was shot in the line of duty in March 2023. After extensive rehabilitation, he’s returning to the police force as a public relations specialist.
NEW HAVEN, Mo. — It’s been nearly two years since former Hermann police Officer Adam Sullentrup was injured after being shot in the line of duty while responding to a disturbance at the Casey’s gas station on Missouri Highway 19 on March 12, 2023. Fellow Hermann officer Detective Sgt. Mason Griffith was also shot during the incident and died as a result of his injuries.
While his future in law enforcement was seemingly put in jeopardy by his injury, Sullentrup’s resilience during weeks in Mercy St. Louis’ intensive care unit, brain surgery at a hospital in Colorado and extensive rehabilitation proved otherwise.
