ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Henry County emergency management crews have been monitoring changing road conditions.
The agency says their teams have been preparing for the winter weather event for multiple days.
“We fully staffed from the DOT, all public safety including – 911, fire, police and the sheriff’s office,” said Henry County Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Ryan Morrison.
Morrison says have had six crews out salting, sanding, and plowing the roads Friday.
He says Jonesboro Road, one of the main arteries through the county, has been a point of focus.
Morrison says their crews have encountered drivers taking risks they shouldn’t.
“We have a lot of people not paying attention to the roadway driving a little fast. We’re telling people to stay off the road when they can to make it safer for them and our public safety crews that have to respond out here,” …
