Henderson ISD picks next superintendent [Video]

HENDERSON, Texas — The Henderson ISD Board of Trustees named Brian Bowman as its finalist Tuesday for the position of superintendent. 

Bowman is expected to begin in February after the required 21-day waiting period. 

Bowman currently serves as the Diboll ISD superintendent, and has over 20 years of experience in education. He previously spent time as a principal at Gilmer High School, and Director of Community and media Relations at Longview ISD. 

“Brian Bowman has a deep-seated understanding of what makes East Texas schools successful. He acquired that by working at all levels of education from teaching in the classroom to leading a school district,” HISD Board President Russell Brown said. “His personal values and priorities align with those expected by our entire community.
