CREWS IN NORTH CAROLINA CONTINUE TO MAKE PROGRESS AS THEY WORK TO REOPEN AND REBUILD WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA FOLLOWING HELENE. GOVERNOR COOPER SAYS A LITTLE MORE THAN 5000 POWER OUTAGES REMAIN COMPARED TO THE MORE THAN 1 MILLION REPORTED RIGHT AFTER THE STORM. D-O-T CREWS HAVE REOPENED MORE THAN 700 OF THE MORE THAN 1000 ROADS CLOSED. NOW FEMA HAS PUT $1.4 BILLION TOWARDS OUR STATE’S RECOVERY EFFORTS, INCLUDING 130 MILLION TO RESIDENTS DIRECTLY IMPACTED. GOVERNOR COOPER SAYS HE IS NOT MEETING WITH TRUMP DURING THE FORMER PRESIDENT’S VISIT TODAY. HE HAD THIS TO SAY AHEAD OF HIS STOP.
