MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The Ouachita Multipurpose Community Actions Program (OMCAP) will be opening applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on Dec. 5.
The LIHEAP Heating Program covers the cost of heating for residents in Ouachita Parish living in low-income households.
The Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) will open their applications on Friday, Nov. 15.
OMCAP officials have been conducting outreach programs across Ouachita Parish this week to ensure residents are informed of the resources available to them.
OMCAP also provides rental and food assistance.
“In order to apply, residents should bring a State ID, driver’s license, their last four check stubs from their income, a social security card and their bill. We are dedicated to changing lives and providing hope for people through resources like these,” says John L. Russell II , executive director of OMCAP.
