Healing Arts Scotland 2024 | BSL Interpreted Description [Video]

Taking place from August 19 – 23, Healing Arts Scotland is the world’s first ever national healing arts week. Since 2020 other healing arts events have been held in Paris, New York, London, Venice and Jaipur but Scotland’s is the first nationwide celebration.

An initiative by Scottish Ballet and the Jameel Arts & Health Lab, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, we’ll celebrate the positive impact music, dance, the visual arts and the spoken word, have on our mental health and wellbeing.

By raising the profile of arts and health in Scotland through these performances, talks, workshops and panel discussions, we’re showcasing the best of what we’re doing here, while learning from experts from across the globe about their own innovative practices.

Key events include an outdoor large-scale Opening Celebration performance at the Scottish Parliament as part of Edinburgh International Festival, two days of speakers, panel discussions and workshops in Edinburgh and Glasgow, a Wellbeing Concert in Glasgow, and a series of special events in Aberdeen, Orkney and Lewis.

Almost all of the events, including the conferences in Edinburgh on Monday and Tuesday and the Glasgow Day and Wellbeing Concert on Wednesday, will be BSL interpreted and most will also be live captioned.
