DONALSONVILLE, Ga. (WALB/Gray News) – A community in Georgia is rallying together to support a family after a tragic crash.
Stephen Emmett Houston, 5, was hit and killed by a car last week.
The Houston family says his death has hit them hard.
“We’re still in shock. It’s like it’s a dream one minute and it’s all too real the next minute,” Stephen Houston Jr., Emmet’s father, said.
Authorities said Emmett was heading home while crossing the street that day from the family’s barn.
Loved ones say they have been leaning on their faith.
“We’re just doing the best we can and I can tell you we wouldn’t be doing anything at all if it weren’t for our strong faith in Jesus Christ,” Emmett’s father said. “He was strong, he was smart, and he was beautiful.”
The community has also poured in support.
