PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Artificial intelligence is having an impact in a wide variety of settings, and health care is not immune. AI is already providing benefits, but there are concerns about potential harm as technology is developed.

It is widely believed that the knowledge gained from a combination of a physician and AI is better than either AI alone or the physician alone.

However, a new study found that the isolated use of AI outperformed physicians, even when the doctors used AI. Does this mean we should turn care over to AI?

A follow-up report suggests the answer is no. It seems that most physicians are using AI as a search engine. This limits the impact of artificial intelligence.
