ELLSWORTH, Maine (WABI) – One living innovations community member took giving back into her own hands on Saturday, November 23rd.
Hancock county resident Peggy Nolan hosted a food drive Saturday morning from 9am until 2pm at the Shaw’s in Ellsworth.
The drive is going to support H.O.M.E. in Orland who aim to provide Thanksgiving food boxes to local families.
H.O.M.E. Faced an unexpected shortage of frozen turkeys and hams this year as their largest supplier was unable to provide them with their usual amount.
However they are currently looking for more donations of other thanksgiving food items including onions, squash, and dinner rolls.
Peggy stepped up and answered the call by organizing Saturday’s food drive.
”I’m doing the food drive for the homeless there, so what I’ve been doing is I’ve been helping them out because I think they should still have a good meal on the good holiday. So …
