Hammond Brewery accepting donations for Hurricane Helene victims [Video]

Donations will be brought to a North Carolina brewery on Sunday for those in need. Can openers, baby diapers, formula, and pet food are the most needed items.

HAMMOND, La. — Our neighbors on the Northshore are helping Hurricane Helene victims.

Gnarly Barley’s Tap Room Manager, Jonathan Cranfield, is familiar with some of the hardest hit areas. He’s hiked the Appalachian Trail since he was a teenager, and he credits North Carolina for how he got into brewing.

However, the area is not as prepared for hurricanes as we are, Cranfield said.

“We lost our home in Katrina, so seeing the footage on TV and social media of an area I know, and love and respect and I think a lot of people down here have a unique perspective on what they’re going through,” Cranfield said.

The Hammond Brewery posted on Tuesday that it would accept non-perishable food, new or gently used clothing, and water donations.
