Halsey performed “Ego” at the 2024 MTV VMAs on Wednesday, but the biggest moment of the night came later on social media.

Pop Base posted a photo of Halsey and actor Avan Jogia, calling him Halsey’s “boyfriend,” then Halsey reposted the photo with the correction “***fiancé Avan Jogia.” “Avan is the best.”

Halsey had said earlier on the VMAs red carpet. “He’s one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to me, and every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I’m with my best friend. It’s incredible.” When asked about getting married, Halsey quipped, “Uh, I hope so” with a mischievous smile. She performed a new song called “Ego” at the VMAs.

Jogia is best known for playing Beck Oliver on Nickelodeon’s Victorious from 2010 to 2013.
