Hall Of Famer Says Saturday Night’s Main Event Was A “Giant Infomercial” [Video]

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes that the promotion’s first Saturday Night’s Main Event since 2008 was little more than an infomercial.

The December 14th show saw five matches, including the crowning of the first-ever WWE Women’s United States Champion.

On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray shared his critique of the NBC event. He said,

“I thought it was a giant infomercial. As I watched Saturday Night’s Main Event… 54 percent of the show was packages, promos, ads, and all that stuff.

“I felt it was like an infomercial … ‘Here’s who we are, this is what we do, this is the product that we offer.’”

Despite this criticism, Ray added that WWE gave fans “enough” and that Saturday Night’s Main Event was a “good, friendly show.

WWE will host four events each year on NBC, with Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura set to provide commentary on each of these shows.
