Habitat Omaha continues providing families with homes in new development [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Phase One of Habitat for Humanity’s Bluestem Prairie development has more than 60 percent of the 85 homes in the project complete.

New families continue to move into this new and growing community. The development is helping fight against the affordable housing crisis in the Omaha metro.

The opportunities we’re creating are for every day people who work everyday jobs, but just don’t have enough money to buy a house,“ said Habitat Omaha CEO Amanda Brewer. ”Unfortunately in this day and age, that’s a lot of people.”

Lam Ramdiet, his wife, and his three children got the keys to their new home Wednesday. Lam says it was a long road to home ownership.
