PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley is mourning the passing of Former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away at the age of 100 early Sunday afternoon.
Former President Carter and his wife Rosalynn served as volunteers for the organization for 35 years where they helped to build affordable housing.
According to a press release from the Habitat for Humanity, the MOV Carter and his wife first volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Americus, Ga., near their home of Plains, in March 1984.
Robin Stewart, Executive Director of the MOV Habitat affiliate states in the press release:
