SWEETWATER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The City of Sweetwater is celebrating the groundbreaking of 10 new homes. These homes represent the first phase of a 92-lot subdivision located on the northeast corner of town. Construction began in 2022, marking the beginning of this exciting new project.

Creekside is the city’s first major housing development of its size in more than 40 years. City Manager David Vela said it is a pivotal moment in the city’s move to drive growth and bolster the community.
“It feels good. It’s been a long time coming… This is the first large-scale type of housing development that we’ve seen in quite a while. Many decades,” Vela said.
