Grief counselors at Deer Park school after 12-year-old student shot, critically hurt [Video]

DEER PARK, Ohio (WXIX) – The juvenile shot along with an adult in Deer Park Sunday is a 12-year-old Amity Elementary School student, police confirmed early Monday.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share some difficult news with you. Earlier today, we were informed that a 12-year-old student from Amithy Elementary was shot. At this time, we do not have further details about the incident and the student’s name has not been released,” wrote Deer Park Community City School District Superintendent Jay Phillips in a message Sunday to parents and staff.

Deer Park police confirmed early Monday the superintendent wrote the message, it is accurate and it is about the shooting Sunday that remains under investigation as a domestic incident.
