GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Officials across South Carolina are providing updates as cleanup continues in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
Greenville County officials held a press conference at 2:30 p.m. to update the community and discuss plans moving forward. More than 60 percent of the county now has power, according to officials.
They are urging residents to apply for FEMA relief. An insurance claims village is also set up in the parking lot of Home Depot at 79 Woodruff Industrial Lane in Greenville. Representatives from the Department of Insurance, FEMA, Allstate, State Farm, Progressive, Travelers and Heritage Insurance are answering questions until 6 p.m. on Thursday. The village will reopen Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Governor Henry McMaster and other state officials are also holding a press conference at 2:30 p.m. at the South Carolina Emergency Operations Center in West Columbia.
