David, why is intersection safety such a critical issue?
Intersections are complex traffic environments where vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists all converge. Unfortunately, red-light running is a significant problem. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, thousands of people are killed or injured every year in accidents caused by drivers who run red lights. The sad thing is these crashes are preventable.
