Green Bay wheelchair users invited for free safety checks and cleaning of mobility devices [Video]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Knights of Columbus Council #617 and NuMotion partnered up on Thursday to help local non-profit Options for Independent Living in Green Bay in the Wheelchair Wash and Safety Check event.

Green Bay residents who use scooters, wheelchairs or any other type of mobility aids were invited for free inspections and cleaning of their devices from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The event also included free food, demonstrations of adaptive equipment and more. Autumn Nordall, the Advocacy Coordinator for Options for Independent Living says it’s an annual event and it’s important.

“For some of us, this is the only time in the year that we have the ability to get our pieces of equipment washed,” Nordall said. “As somebody who sits in this device for the majority of the day, that’s really crucial to be able to have that.”
