Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich highlights community safety plan [Video]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Green Bay officials held an event on Wednesday to discuss keeping the community safe.

Mayor Eric Genrich launched the community safety plan with the help of multiple law enforcement agencies and the Office of Violence Prevention.

During the event, Genrich highlighted the top priorities which include gun violence reduction strategies, community violence intervention, and having a sustainable and impactful Office of Violence Prevention.

“We’ve had some conversations,” said Jerry Overstreet, the Office of Violence Prevention Director. “I’ve done some door knocks and spoken to some individuals about occurrences that have happened. We’ve worked with a couple of the bars talking about nighttime activities, coming up with strategic plans around safety and things like that.”
