MONROE, La. (KNOE) – According to a report from the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana (PAR), one in five Louisianans rely on SNAP benefits.
What consumers are allowed to buy could be changing soon. To ensure that everyone has access to fresh produce, Greaux The Good is working directly with Louisiana farmers.
Greaux the Good is a program established by Market Umbrella, a 501(c)3 out of New Orleans. This statewide initiative allows participating farmers markets and growers to engage in the SNAP or Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Greaux The Good is working with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Of Louisiana to allow SNAP beneficiaries at certain locations to get up to an additional $20 in matched benefits.
