Gray wolves kill nine sheep in Colorado’s Grand County | Politics [Video]

According to data from Colorado Parks and Wildlife, eight more sheep were killed by wolves in Grand County as of July 28, bringing the county’s total to nine. Since gray wolves were reintroduced to the state in 2023, there have been 14 depredation incidents in Colorado.

Parks and Wildlife is continuing to investigate the incident. Ethan Kohn, a damage specialist with the state wildlife agency, visited the ranch to meet with owners Nellie and Conway Farrell and search for five sheep that were still missing. Two more were found with injuries consistent with wolf depredation. 

Nellie Farrell said the sheep were all together when her husband and children left the ranch at noon, but when they returned six hours later, they were gone.
