Gray, Oregon Road fire reflection events happening this weekend [Video]

The weekend of August 17-18 marks one year since the two large wildfires broke out in Spokane County.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — This weekend, August 17-18, marks one year since the Gray and Oregon Road fires broke out in Spokane County.

The two fires burned over a combined 20,000 acres.

The Spokane Region Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG) will host two reflection events this weekend as the group celebrates the resilience and strength of both communities.

Oregon Road Fire Reflection Event

On Saturday, August 17, there will be a free reflection event on the Oregon Road Fire that burned in Elk, Washington, last summer.

The event is at the Old Red Barn on North Collins Road in Elk, Washington. Longhorn BBQ will be catering, and local businesses will donate door prizes. There will also be live music at the event.
