Gov. Gretchen Whitmer endorses Kamala Harris for president [Video]

(WWJ) — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has now joined a long list of lawmakers who are endorsing Kamala Harris to be the Democratic Party’s nominee for president.

A day after President Joe Biden announced his decision to drop out of the race, Gov. Whitmer issued the endorsement in unison with fellow governors in midwestern states, including J.B. Pritzker (D-Illinois), Tim Halz (D-Minnesota) and Tony Evers (D-Wisconsin).

Releasing her full statement on X (formerly Twitter), Whitmer captioned her post, “Let’s win this.”

In the press release, Whitmer said she’s “fired up to endorse Kamala Harris for President of the United States.”

She goes on to tout Harris’ accomplishments that benefit the state of Michigan, including bringing jobs and supply chains back home from overseas, and being a champion of reproductive freedom.
