After a lengthy and contentious selection process, Gov. Josh Green announced Hinano Rodrigues as his pick to fill the vacant Lo’ea, or expert seat for the State Commission on Water Resource Management.

HONOLULU (Island News) — After a lengthy and contentious selection process, Gov. Josh Green announced Hinano Rodrigues as his pick to fill the vacant Lo’ea, or expert seat for the State Commission on Water Resource Management.

Rodrigues will now serve as interim until he is confirmed by the Hawai’i State Senate.

The Maui Native has more than two decades of experience in Hawaiian cultural preservation, community engagement, and environmental knowledge. He previously served as a History and Culture Branch Chief for the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR).
