They say efforts are underway to respond to the wintery conditions in the northern part of the state and some parts of Central Georgia.
ATLANTA — Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and state officials held a press conference Friday morning outlining the state’s response to the morning’s winter weather, which included 2-3 inches of snow in metro-Atlanta and icy roads in some Central Georgia counties.
“The one thing you can’t do with snow and ice is get behind it — you have to constantly stay in front of it,” Georgia Emergency Management Agency Director James Stalling said.
Officials, such as Stalling, said that allowed them to get the ball rolling and start mobilizing resources to best respond on the day of the winter weather.
