SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Goodwill of the Great Plains helped community members be sure they have the clothes they need over the winter on Saturday.
The annual Shoe and Mitten program provides new shoes, socks, hats and mittens to elementary students in need.
Drives took place all across the region, including in Brookings, Vermillion, Yankton and Sioux Falls.
“Every year it’s an incredibly heart-warming event. We know that families are making hard decisions this time of year, so if we can help them out with a basic need like shoes, socks, hats, and mittens, then that’s great and we’re happy to help out,” said Goodwill of the Great Plains President and CEO Bridget Solomon. “Kids truly get to enjoy something that’s magical and fun for them.
