Good News: Broken Arrow family’s Christmas lights display tradition continues | Good News [Video]

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Since 1991, the Slankards have decked out their home for Christmas. Robert Slankard said they never planned on creating over-the-top Christmas displays, but it just snowballed.

Walking through the yard, Slankard pointed out different displays that have sentimental meanings.

Some are tributes to family members and some are tributes to the City of Broken Arrow.

In addition to driving by, families can walk around the yard and take photos.

It’s all free, but there is a way for everyone stopping by to spread holiday cheer.

“Christmas community, the more you get online and read, you notice people were using all the crowds that would come for a good purpose,” Slankard said.
