Golf tournament supports new Hartford Hospital visitor center [Video]

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A golf tournament held Monday at the Hartford Golf Club helped raise funds to renovate a surgical family lounge and create a new visitor center at Hartford Hospital.

The Hartford Hospital Auxiliary’s tournament has raised about $5 million over 35 years.

“I’m excited about bringing more attention to the excellence,” Hartford HealthCare President and CEO Jeff Flaks said. “This surgical program, they’re the best in the country. To bring attention to it, to celebrate their excellence, to bring the community together to raise money, for helping more people for our patients — it’s an amazing day.”

The lounge will provide a centralized access point for families and visitors.
