Greater Manchester Police has said armed police filmed kicking and stamping on a man’s head were deployed to Manchester Airport after officers were attacked, including a female officer who had her nose broken.

Video footage, which has been viewed over a million times on social media, has caused outrage after a taser-wielding officer was seen kicking a man before bringing a boot down on his head. 

Campaigners from Manchester Stand Up To Racism have accused police of racism, organising a ‘We won’t stay quiet against racist police violence’ for later today.

Protests are expected to take place outside Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham‘s office at 6pm, as they call on him to act on the alleged ‘police brutality’.
