Girls Dig Deeper Initiative holds 3rd meeting on self-discipline [Video]

MACON, Ga. — The Girls Dig Deeper Initiative hosted their third session since their founding at the Middle Georgia Regional Library on Saturday.

The group, which was founded in March, offers leadership development programs for teenage girls in the Central Georgia area.

They look to help girls overcome “barriers,” like childhood poverty, chronic absenteeism, poor academic achievement, disability, adverse childhood experiences and community violence.

The initiative received a $15,500 grant from the Macon Violence Prevention in two different rounds. In the first round, they received $5,500. In the second round, they received the remaining $10,000.
