Women’s History Month is celebrated every March, with International Women’s Day falling on the 8th of the month. It emphasizes the importance of empowering the voices of young women and girls and advocating for gender equality on a global scale. In honor of this special time of year, Girl Up often creates a digital campaign highlighting the vital contributions of girls and women globally and the ways they’re mobilizing communities to create change.
This year, Girl Up once again amplified stories, strides, and achievements of women and girls all over the world, to acknowledge their contributions and the positive impact they have on society. Within this “Legends of Leadership” campaign, Girl Up motivated its youth leaders to understand their voting rights and the importance of the participation of more women and youth in governance.
