To level with you – this is not the career I had in mind when I left school. But now there is literally nothing else I’d rather be working on.
I live in Cornwall in the UK, just a few miles from where I grew up (this place is addictive OK – beaches, sea, language, culture… so don’t judge me) And when SuperFast Broadband arrived I was smitten forever.
I trained and qualified to teach maths – complicated concepts, figuring out the best way to explain something, seeing that moment of joyful understanding sweep across a learner’s face…
But it turned out I didn’t love teaching teens…..and they apparently weren’t all that fond of me either (massive understatement!)
So I turned my attention to grownups, and realised that teaching people who chose to learn the subject was a lot more rewarding (also an understatement)
Then I had children, and ran into some health issues, so I took some time out of work.
But one day… a local friend introduced me to ActiveCampaign – a system she was using as part of her marketing – because she knew it would appeal to my systems-loving, efficiency-craving, analytical mind.
I was hooked (that was the last massive understatement, I promise), which led to founding Slick Business to help business get more ROI from ActiveCampaign.
And went on to become a Certified ActiveCampaign Consultant, creator and host of the ActiveCampaign Academy, founder member of the ActiveCampaign Customer Advisory Board and overall global hero of ActiveCampaign users (not an understatement!)
Go figure! Life takes us in unexpectedly wonderful directions, and I’m SO here for it as the CEO of Slick Business.
