Genesis School in Kansas City could lose its charter [Video]

“I was shocked,” says Kevin Foster, executive director of Genesis School. “The evidence is clear.”Foster is reeling after the Missouri Charter Public School Commission (MCPSC) voted 5-1 last week to not continue its charter with Genesis School beyond June 30, 2025, citing the school showed insufficient evidence to “produce dramatically different” academic outcomes.Foster says he and his staff prepared for 10 months to submit their charter renewal, which included multiple references to academic improvement among K-8 students.Some of those statistics, including improved test results, are shared on Genesis’ website:”Genesis 2024 MPI (Multi-Dimensional Poverty Index) improvement in ELA is better than 90% of all districts and charters in the state of Missouri and better than 95% of districts and charters in the state in math.
