SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A brand new year of the Future Lawyers of Springfield Program, created by the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, kicked off on Thursday.
Future Lawyers of Springfield is designed to cultivate a diverse legal community in the greater Springfield area by providing mentorship and support to students who aspire to become lawyers one day.
The program introduces participants to legal education, skill-building opportunities, as well as insight into the law school admission program.
We caught up with Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni, who shared with us how this program came to be.
“They think of being a lawyer as so far off and foreign to them and difficult. So, this is really, again, an opportunity for us to provide support, mentorship, and instruction to those who don’t have those examples around them, to go through the process [and see] that it’s achievable,” he told us.
