The Barrow County community will come together and mourn the loss of a beloved educator.
WINDER, Ga. — The Barrow County community is set to mourn a beloved math teacher who was tragically killed in a school shooting at Apalachee High School on Sept. 4.
Cristina Irimie, who was 53, will be laid to rest on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens at 3481 Hamilton Mill Road in Buford, according to Saints Constantine and Helen Romanian Orthodox Church’s website.
“Cristina was a remarkable parishioner and a dedicated individual, passionate about Romanian culture and traditions,” the church said about Irimie.
The funeral service will start at 2 p.m. and will be open to the public. She will be buried around 3:30 p.m.
