FREEPORT, Maine — One driver was brought to Maine Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash Monday on Interstate 295 in Freeport.
The crash happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes, near mile 22, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release.
A 2024 Toyota was merging from the right lane to the left lane when it hit a 2018 Volkswagen, causing the Volkswagen to go to the left and hit a guardrail, Moss said. The Toyota then rolled onto its roof and came to rest in the middle of I-295, according to the release.
Freeport Rescue transported the driver of the Toyota to Maine Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to officials. The driver of the Volkswagen had a minor complaint of pain but declined to be taken to a hospital, …
