WETUMKA, Okla. — A former Wetumka coach and teacher accused of major sexual abuse allegations by former students, faces charges in court while the community gathered in the courtroom to support the alleged victims.
FOX23 told you earlier this month about the allegations and accusations of sexual abuse faced by former Wetumka coach and teacher Brent McGee.
“Nobody wanted to believe it,” said Wetumka parent and grandparent Sheila Armstrong. She said everyone trusted former teacher, coach and mayor of Wetumka Brent McGee until allegations of sexual abuse against teenage boys led to Brent’s arrest in August.
Now, many of the people who once trusted Brent drove 20 miles to Holdenville to pack the courtroom in order to show their support for the victims who say they were sexually abused when they were his students.
Brent’s been charged with 7 felony counts of sexual abuse.
