The Hungaroring has received a two-star sustainability rating from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile ( International Automobile Federation, FIA).
According to a statement issued by Hungaroring on Monday, the FIA “rates tracks with one, two or three stars based on the level of sustainability they have achieved,” and the Mogyoród track (near Budapest) received the two-star FIA environmental accreditation after the Hungarian Grand Prix 2024 at the end of July.
The statement highlighted that
the judging process looked at the Hungaroring’s day-to-day operations, facility management and event organization in terms of environmental objectives and processes such as energy, waste, water, soil pollution, procurement processes and air quality.
The track had to apply for the accreditation by submitting various documents online.
