Former Senate candidate Dan Osborn launches new PAC [Video]

Former U.S. Senate candidate and labor union leader Dan Osborn announced the launch of a new political action committee Tuesday.

Osborn’s announcement of the Working Class Heroes Fund marks the next step in his fledgling political career that began with his upstart candidacy against incumbent U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer, a Republican. Osborn, a registered nonpartisan, finished just under 7 percentage points behind Fischer in the general election decided this month.

In a press release, Osborn, a former Kellogg Co. mechanic who led a strike against the cereal manufacturer in Omaha in 2021, said the Working Class Heroes Fund will focus on elevating candidates with working-class backgrounds and advocating for working-class policies. The PAC also will look to mobilize working-class voters and support labor unions and strike funds.

The PAC, Osborn said, seeks to challenge a system made up of members of Congress who Osborn said are “a bunch of millionaires controlled by billionaires and special interests.”
