(Gray News) – Former President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden welcomed President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania to the White House ahead of Monday’s inauguration.
The visit followed a traditional Inauguration Day service at Saint John’s Episcopal Church.
Biden, Trump and their spouses had tea together at the White House before the change of guard, a tradition Trump snubbed in 2021.
The Bidens snapped a selfie as they left the White House Monday morning and posted it on social media saying, “One more selfie for the road. We love you, America.”
Biden and his wife Jill plan to vacation in California after the inauguration.
