Forbes father calling for better monitoring of school emails after sons suicide at 14 [Video]

Four weeks after his 14th birthday, Forbes boy Corey Woodhouse took his life. His father, Jason, has spent the past eight months trying to figure out why.

Woodhouse has been pushing for access to emails from Corey’s school email account to see if he was being bullied online, but the department has repeatedly said no — until now.

The grieving father believes his son used his school-assigned email to sign up to social media platforms without his dad’s consent or knowledge, and wants to review what was being discussed.

“He was an amazing boy,” Woodhouse told 7NEWS. “I think you would check under every rock if you knew the answer might be there.”

Woodhouse submitted a freedom of information request in November and sent multiple emails, and in January visited the department in person.
