JACKSON, Neb. — Foggy conditions Friday evening contributed to a crash near Jackson that killed two drivers.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at about 7:34 p.m. Friday to a collision on Highway 20, approximately two miles west of Jackson.
David Podany, a 68-year-old resident of rural Allen, Neb., was driving a Nissan Maxima westbound on the highway, while 26-year-old Christopher Wedmore, of Lawton, Iowa, was driving eastbound in a GMC Sierra pickup truck when they collided, the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Both drivers died, and a 26-year-old female and a 3-year-old boy who were passengers in the pickup suffered injuries. They were both in stable condition, the sheriff’s department said in the press release.
Emergency responders from Dakota Covington Volunteer Rescue, Ponca Volunteer Rescue and South Sioux City Rescue assisted at the scene. The Nebraska State Patrol was working with the Dakota County …
