Flint responds to lawsuit filed by Hasselbring Senior Center | Local [Video]

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – The city of Flint is responding after the Hasselbring Senior Center’s former nonprofit management filed a civil lawsuit.

The lawsuit accuses the city of bullying, harassment, lies and continuous interference. It comes as the city takes over management of the center after alleged violations of city ordinances by the nonprofit that runs the center.

That includes renting out the Flint-owned building to events that allow alcohol, which is prohibited by the city.

Flint Chief of Staff Edward Taylor said he hadn’t seen the lawsuit by Friday, so he couldn’t comment on the specific arguments included in the complaint. He pointed out that the management change will not reduce services.
