Flamingos will be popping up in Daniel Island yards for a great cause [Video]

DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) – The annual “Flamingo Flocking” fundraiser kicks off Sunday to raise money for Make-A-Wish.

From June 23-27, dozens of kids will be “flocking” front yards on Daniel Island with pink flamingos for Make-A-Wish South Carolina in honor of Charlie Peary.

The fundraiser kicks off on Sunday from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Community members will gather at New Realm to cheer on the kids as they depart.

Event organizers are asking attendees to wear pink and blue, and golf cart decorations are also encouraged.

All children need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate.

Kids set up flamingos after 5 p.m. each night and cleanup will be around 9 a.m. the following day.

All donations will go to the local Make-A-Wish foundation and support children living with critical or life-threatening illnesses. There are around 400 children currently waiting for their wish and about 70 …
